I work in data and analytics

About

I build financial models, internal tools, and data systems, then explain what they show to the people who have to make the decision.

Jaxon Moffitt

Real estate finance, software, and analytics.

Most of my career has sat where finance meets data: building the model, and then building the tool so the next person doesn't have to start from scratch.

  • Studying: M.S. Analytics, Georgia Tech
  • Degree: Information Systems Management, BYU

Since November 2022 I've been a Project Coordinator for finance and market at Neighborly Development in Salem, Oregon, a real estate developer working mostly on market-rate multifamily projects, along with some affordable and mixed-affordability deals. I've modeled more than 10 deals (the largest a 264-unit multifamily project of roughly $60M) and I present that analysis directly to investors. Lately my work has shifted toward building internal tools, automating processes, and centralizing the company's data. One example is the Project Mapping Tool below, which should turn a site map that used to take an hour or more into a 10 to 15 minute job.

Before that, I maintained and extended Oregon's Driver and Vehicle Services software as an implementation consultant with FAST Enterprises on an Oregon Department of Transportation project, and built a developer dashboard in React and .NET Core as an intern at Restaurant365. I'm now working on a Master of Science in Analytics at Georgia Tech and looking for data science and analytics roles where a real estate finance background is an asset.
